The Von der Leyen team is formed

(B2) According to our last count, Almost 21 Commissioners have already been appointed: 12 men, 9 women.

Among them, there is only one former Prime Minister, thirteen former ministers (including three from Foreign Affairs or Defense) and two diplomats. The average age of the Commission is not very young: 54 years old. Eight commissioners come from the former Juncker team, ie a small third.

At the political level - between the names already confirmed and those who should come - the balance of the Commission could approach 'almost perfect' with the two main groups of the European Parliament (EPP and S&D) tied (9 seats each ), and all the other groups represented more or less proportionally: 4 liberals, 2 sovereignists, 2 greens (the real unknown *) and 1 independent.

(NGV)

* We counted the sending by Lithuania and Belgium of a green commissioner. Which is still a real challenge.
