Eucap Niger is recruiting 26 positions. From anti-terrorist specialist to nurse

(BRUSSELS2) The EUCAP SAHEL Niger mission has launched its latest wave of recruitment. 26 positions are thus offered, including 5 to be filled.as soon as possible(immediately if possible :-)) because they delay the proper deployment of the mission. These posts are open to civil servants or agents of the Member States/EU, on secondment, or to all, by contract, as the case may be. All candidates must speak and write fluently in French, the language of Niger. An understanding of the European institutional maze and particularly of its foreign policy, as well as a good knowledge of the region are required. Potential candidates must also have received training in civilian crisis management. Finally, candidates must have European clearance at "top secret" level or a national equivalent. Finally, a detail not to be forgotten, the deadline for returning the application form has been set for September 21 and the positions are to be exercised in Niamey and will last 12 months.

To be precise, the mission is only looking for secondment: a coordination team leader, a capacity building expert (LOG), a Nigerien security strategy adviser (RoL Planning Expert), an expert in an anti-corruption operation cell -terrorist, a senior coordination expert, a cooperation expert, a human resources training expert, a logistics training expert, a human rights and gender equality expert, an archivist expert, a forensic expert, a border management expert, a senior analyst/MAC (Mission Analysis Capacities) manager, a MAC analyst, a senior evaluator/MIP (Mission Implementation Plan), an evaluator/MIP and an assistant to the head of mission; and with a possible contract (secondment also possible) an accounting manager, an information and communication system manager, a mission security manager, an information security manager, a finance manager, a logistics/transport manager, a nurse, a human resources manager and finally a supply manager. The different positions are listed on the recruitment form (here). But, already, here are in detail some of the functions sought after and which particularly caught the attention of B2:

Expert in human rights and gender equality

This position will require him or her to work specifically with the local community. The expert will have to support and sensitize the local and international partners as well as the Nigerien security forces to the issues of human rights and gender equality. An assessment of the situation in this area and possible areas of improvement will also be part of the puzzle. In short, a position for those who aspire to an invigorating and rewarding function. The profile sought requires a university degree in human rights, politics, law or other relevant field, as well as a minimum of five years' professional experience in the field of human rights (preferably at the international level)

Border management expert

A position is open for a border guard or member of the police force holding a relevant university or professional degree. He or she must have between 10 and 15 years of professional experience in law enforcement and between 5 and 10 years in the field of border management (experience in airport control and immigration would be highly appreciated) . The lucky winner will work closely with the Nigerien authorities to assess and develop the necessary changes to improve border security. Particularly with a view to optimizing the fight against terrorism and organized crime, a concrete objective of EUCAP Niger.

Anti-Terrorist Operation Cell Expert

Another position open to a member of the police force. In addition to the diploma, he will be asked for a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in anti-terrorist criminal investigation, as well as in operating room management. Its task will mainly consist in optimizing the functioning of the Nigerien anti-terrorist cell. Work at the very heart of local operations therefore. The expert in question will also have to participate in the implementation of exercises for the application of anti-terrorism strategies. Again, what to do for the next 12 months.

Senior Analyst / MAC Manager

EUCAP Niger is also recruiting a MAC (Mission Analysis Capacities) manager. This person will be responsible for both providing the analyzes necessary for anticipation and key decision-making and will also have to ensure that all this information circulates when and where it needs to circulate, whether within the mission or with the European institutions in liaison or even with the private actors involved. Applicants should hold a degree in political science, international relations or another relevant social science. They must have 5 years of experience in in-depth analysis and have been the director of a team in the field concerned. Of course, these first will also have to demonstrate a great capacity for cultural and political understanding as well as a certain ability to use specific analysis software.
