A Swede takes over at Eupol Afghanistan

(BRUSSELS2) It is a veteran of European missions who will take the helm of the European Union police mission in Afghanistan (EUPOL Afghanistan).

A Swedish policeman, a graduate of Uppsala University, Karl Åke ROGHE was, in fact, until now head of operations for the European mission in Kosovo (EULEX Kosovo). Previously, he was the European Union Police Team Leader/Advisor to the European Union Police Special Representative for Sudan. Incidentally, he is also a fan of telemark skiing (an ancestral form of alpine skiing) as he announces on his facebook page.

Since the departure of Finnish General Jukka Petri Savolainen, the mission was led on an interim basis by Geoffrey Cooper.
