EUAVSEC South Sudan

Civil mission with the aim of improving airport security against external risks (terrorism, drugs, etc.). The mission does not have an executive role but rather support, training of personnel and development of the various procedures. European experts will be placed with the airport authority and the South Sudanese Ministry of Transport to help implement and codify the various security rules (advisory and assistance mission).

• Budget: 12,5 million euros - EU budget
• Staff: 64 people – 43 European and 21 local experts
• Headquarters and area of ​​action: Juba (South Sudan).

• Term of office: 19 months
• Launch: the recruitment of the central team (core team) of the chef is in progress. It should be deployed in the field in September, after the traditional training session in Brussels. The complement of the team will be deployed by the end of the year, to allow full work over a full year

EUCAP Nestor (formerly RMCB)

Maritime capacity building mission for countries in the Horn of Africa. The mission aims to strengthen the capacities of the countries concerned to fight against piracy, whether in terms of personnel training (police, magistrates, coastguards), assistance in the implementation of legislation and legal proceedings and the supply of certain materials.

• Staff: 200 people (including 175 international experts)
