Increased budget for the EUjust Lex mission in Iraq

EU ambassadors are soon to approve a budget increase for the "rule of law" mission (EUJUST lex) in Iraq, which aims to train the police and judicial officers of the new Iraqi state. 4,8 million euros will be added to the current budget (17,5 million euros) for the current period (July 2010 - June 2011). This is to allow the mission to "transfer its activities to Iraq, emphasizing specialized training" and to cover security costs. It should be noted that from a budgetary point of view, it is the head of mission who bears responsibility for expenses, and must report to the European Commission.
