Airbus acquires Satair

The Danish aeronautical maintenance company Satair has entered into the hands of the European Airbus (the subsidiary of EADS). The latter launched, on Wednesday July 27, a friendly takeover bid for a total amount of $504 million, financed with equity by Airbus. Satair is one of the main independent distributors of spare parts and maintenance in the world, particularly for the military sector. It has 360 employees and generates a profit of $36 million for a turnover of $403 million (fiscal year 2011), more or less equally distributed between three continents: Europe, Asia, USA.
