The death of the European diplomat reported missing in Haiti confirmed (update)

(B2 / update Mar 19 Jan) Boal Pilar Juarez, who was the number 2 of the EU "embassy" in Haiti, has died. Given a moment as identified by the spanish press, the body would still be under the rubble at the latest news but the chances of finding alive are more than minimal. She was surprised by the earthquake in the United Nations building while attending a meeting. It is the first death in service for the diplomatic service of the EU since the establishment of the Treaty of Lisbon. But this is not the first European agent to die on mission (read in memoriam). NB: three Spanish victims have, however, been confirmed, including a police inspector, Rosa Crespo Biel, who was working with the UN. Read here
