Among the pirates delivered by the Swedish Navy, a 14-year-old minor!

(B2) Among the seven pirates apprehended after the attack on the MV Antonis, which the Swedish navy handed over to Kenyan police on Monday, is a young man, who Kenyan authorities say appears to be 14 years old. Tests will be carried out to verify the age of the person concerned, announces the national press. In addition, the US Navy delivered, Wednesday, June 10, the 17 pirates it had apprehended with a Korean ship, May 13, after the attack on the MV Amira (as part of Operation CTF 151).

It's starting to do a lot... For the Kenyan authorities, who have received more than a hundred pirates from the Allied and European forces (USA and EU) - most of them in recent months - the pirate business is really starting to become difficult to manage. Mombasa being saturated, they decided to transfer the pirates to other towns. The 7 suspects delivered to the Swedish navy were thus transferred to Malindi, another port city in the country, to be tried there (they were charged on Tuesday, June 9). It will be the same for the 17 suspects delivered by the US Navy (charged Thursday, June 11).

Hunger-strike. In Mombasa, the situation is indeed tense. Thus 18 suspects interned in the Mombasa prison, "Shimo la Tewa", who are due to go on trial this week, are said to be on hunger strike.
