New rights for seafarers
(B2) The Commission has launched a consultation European social partners to revise the social regulations applicable to seafarers. "We must make the European maritime sector more attractive without weakening its competitiveness", explains a European expert. Idea: make certain texts applicable to sailors and fishermen (European works councils, payment of wages in the event of insolvency, etc.) from which they are currently excluded and improve their social protection.
