Mauritius does not want Atalanta “piracy suspects”

(B2) The government of Mauritius does not seem to want to respond to the request of several countries (France, United Kingdom and USA - read here) to be able to accommodate persons suspected of piracy apprehended by international forces in the Indian Ocean. At least such is the feeling of the Mauritian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arvin Boolell, as relayed by the daily newspaper Express de l'Ile Maurice. "The folder was studied during various working sessions. No action will be taken on this proposal. he indicated. He also denied that a cooperation agreement between Mauritius and the United States had been vavalized for the supply of American warships. At least not yet, maybe... The island - which lives largely from tourism - fears being the target of terrorists if it follows up, publicly, on this type of proposal.
