The 7 pirates arrested after the attack on Cape Saint Vincent handed over to Kenya

(B2) After discussion and evaluation, the 7 suspected hackers arrested, after the attack on the Breton tuna boat Cap Saint Vincent, by the German frigate Karlsruhe, at the end of October, were finally transferred to Kenya, this Monday around 12:30 p.m., to be judged there, we simultaneously learned from Atalanta HQ.

France (State of the victims) as well as Germany (flag State which took the suspects) thus denied their jurisdiction, preferring a “local” solution for the trial of the suspects. The solution of transfer to a country in the region rather than transfer to Europe is preferable – explains an international expert on the matter; the Somalis are in a country where the culture is not totally different from theirs, they are also closer to their family who can visit them.
