Hard blow for the EU SSR mission in Guinea

(B2) In quick succession, the Guinean Chief of Staff and the President of the Republic died in an attack/assassination. The small mission of assistance to the reform of the army (EU SSR) maintained by the European Union - described as a rather "quiet" mission - thus finds itself in the spotlight... and especially its mission advice and restructuring of the armed forces is thereby compromised, or at least transformed. Javier Solana, the European Union's chief diplomat, therefore launched a "appeal to all to restore constitutional order and help ease tensions in the country". Hoping that he will be heard.
