Ossetia-Georgia. A meeting to resume the dialogue

(B2) The 96th meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IRPM) in Ergneti on Thursday (July 30) was held “ in a positive and constructive atmosphere " according to communicated of the European Observer Mission (EUMM Georgia)

After a certain period of tension, each of the participants (Ossetian separatists as well as Georgian leaders) undertook to " resume a regular dialogue and to use the helpline operated by EUMM Georgia.

The meeting addressed several sensitive issues: the impact on the local population of the prolonged closure of controlled crossing points along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL), the security situation in the Chorchana-Tsnelisi region, recent cases of detention; as well as " other significant unresolved incidents ».

Issues relating to the management of irrigation infrastructure along the line were also addressed.
