Le European medical corps can " only be activated upon request from an affected country explained Stefan De Keersmaecker, spokesman for 'Health' for the European Commission, answering a question from B2, during the daily press briefing on Tuesday (17 March). " At this stage, there is no indication that a request will be made ".

« Currently, one emergency medical team, three advanced medical posts and two mobile laboratories could be considered fit for deployment in relation to the Covid-19 outbreak. »

However, given the situation any availability of personnel to deploy through this medical corps will depend on national capabilities ».
