FS Commandant Ducuing returns to Operation Sophia

(B2) The French notice FS Commander Ducuing (F-795), a type A 69 class vessel from Estienne d'Orves, should soon join Operation EUNAVFOR MED Sophia.

It thus succeeds the new generation offshore patrol vessel L'Adroit, which left the operation on August 7 after more than a month of deployment. Arrived on June 22 on zone, the FS L'Adroit had for essential mission to ensure the control of the traffic of illegal weapons, off the coast of Libya. It had been reinforced by a detachment of marines, as well as a team specializing in the detection of explosive devices.

Le FS Commander Ducuing had already participated in Operation Sophia at the beginning of 2017 (read: FS Ducuing joins the European maritime operation in the Mediterranean).
