First aid in combat, the new training of EUTM Mali
(BRUSSELS2) A few weeks ago, the European training mission of the Malian army (EUTM Mali) introduced a new module for trainees who go through the Koulikoro training camp. This involves individual training in first aid in combat, and the delivery, thanks to the donation from Luxembourg, of a first aid kit. From now on, all members of the Malian battalions trained by EUTM will have their medical kit when they are deployed on a mission.
Training to save lives
The new training module given in Koulikoro is dedicated to combat first aid and the use of utensils in the individual kit. A training during which EUTM emphasizes the preparation of future Malian instructors " so that the latter are eventually able to provide all the training to their compatriots ».
Luxembourg provides more than 6000 individual kits...
A first delivery of equipment was made in mid-November. In total, Luxembourg will deliver 6 individual kits, 000 combat stretchers, 400 flexible rescue stretchers and 600 first aid mannequins, between November and December 15. The composition of the kits has been coordinated with the FAMA and will save lives, whether civilian or military, in the theater of operations. says EUTM Mali. Thus, each individual kit is composed of a tourniquet (a kind of tourniquet), an absorbent dressing, a pressure dressing, a roll of medical adhesive tape, two pairs of gloves and a pair of scissors. .
... and a suitable warehouse
To store all this new equipment, a specific warehouse was built at the Koulikoro training camp and inaugurated on 21 November. It will be the Malian armed forces (FAMA), with the cooperation of EUTM Mali, which will take care of all the logistical management including the storage, the supply and the control of the equipment.
