(BRUXELLES2) European crisis management missions are recruiting before the Christmas holidays! Positions become available for the EUBAM Moldova-Ukraine and EUSEC RD Congo missions.

A new Head of Mission for EUBAM Moldova-Ukraine

The Mission is recruiting its Chief! This one "bears overall responsibility for the implementation of EUBAM's mandate and the effectiveness of the results and overall activities as well as the effectiveness of its operations" or,  "the management (...) of approximately 215 international and national mission staff". He also has a role of political adviser to the Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova on issues related to the conflict in Transnistria”. 20 years of professional experience in the field of management are, among other things, required as well as an excellent knowledge of the neighborhood policy of the European Union and particularly of the Ukrainian and Moldavian institutions. The position is located in Odessa, a port city in southern Ukraine. For more details, see the job description.

Two positions at EUSEC RD Congo

The civilian security assistance mission in Congo (EUSEC RD Congo) is recruiting for its headquarters in Kinshasa as soon as possible:

- An RSS Defense adviser: His mission will be "to assist the Head of Mission in his relations with the Congolese authorities within the framework of the reform of the defense security sector ". A professional experience of at least five years in the security field and 10 of professional experience as well as an in-depth knowledge of the Republic of Congo is required. The term of office extends ideally » until September 30, 2014.

- A security officer, whose task will be to “provide advice on security issues and take charge of all security aspects relating to the mission”. The duration of the mandate as well as the professional experience requested are equivalent to those described above. Previous experience in a PSDC mission is also desired.
