A mission of the Defense sub-committee in Libya

(B2) Several MEPs from the defense sub-committee of the European Parliament are today completing a fact-finding mission in Libya. Led by Arnaud Danjean, the chairman of the sub-committee, it also included Ana Gomes, Parliament's rapporteur on Libya. She was able to meet on Saturday with the main leaders of the country: the President of the National Transitional Council, Abdul Jalil, then the Prime Minister and the main members of the Libyan government. The day before, talks had taken place with the international actors as well as the "brigades" of Zintan & Misrata. She then went to Benghazi, Sunday and Monday, the tribal leaders & members of the CNT.
