The European diplomatic service signs a 30-year lease

(BRUSSELS2) The waltz of boxes will soon be able to begin at the European diplomatic service (EEAS). The capital lease contract with Axa has finally been signed, as confirmed by the Belgian daily Le Soir. Negotiations led by the broker Jones Lang La Salle have finally succeeded, after several negotiations (mainly relating to the duration of the lease, the work necessary before entering the place and their management). The lease will ultimately be for 30 years. The rent will be 12,5 million euros per year. But the service will benefit from a free period during the first 30 months. And it is the owner (Axa) who will take charge of certain security and interior design work (up to 27,5 million euros all the same).

It was time. Because the rental contracts of certain buildings where the officials of the diplomatic service are housed are coming to an end. The first to land could be at the end of the year. But most of the transfers will take place in 2012, starting in the spring.
