Return to Afghanistan for the Dutch

(BRUSSELS2) The first soldiers of the police training mission have arrived in Kunduz, announces the Dutch Ministry of Defense. It is a return to the field for the Dutch military, or rather a new development of the Dutch presence in Afghanistan. National parliamentarians who voted last year for the end of the force mission and its transformation into a more discreet and less exposed mission. The Dutch are no longer in the hot southern zones but in the north, which is a less intensive risk zone.

The deployment will last several weeks. The Dutch will be accommodated by the German force. The new mission comprises 545 people, including 225 police officers, mainly in Kabul, Bamian and Kunduz.
