Who will take the head of the CMPD? 4 candidates in the shortlist

(BRUXELLES2) While a dozen candidates were in the running for the European Defense Civil and Military Operations Planning Structure (CMPD) (2-3 Belgians, 2-3 French, one Greek, two Swedes... ), four would have been retained on the short list, according to our information (*): two Belgians (one is the current ambassador to the COPS, the other is consul in Sharm el Sheikh), a Frenchman (already in office at the CMPD, an eminent specialist on the subject because he has followed all the crisis operations from the start) and a Greek (currently consul in New York, former president of the politico-military group in 2002, during the Greek presidency). The final interviews are taking place in the coming days. And the "decision could be made quickly"says those around the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, Cathy Ashton, who does not want to drag out this file... which has dragged on too long.
