The organization chart of the diplomatic service (updated)

To allow everyone to follow the latest news, here is the organization chart of the European External Action Service (EEAS) updated with the appointments already confirmed and those to be announced shortly (1).

Faithful to her policy of not announcing a complete organization chart, Cathy Asthon, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, prefers instead to move forward, name by name, cautiously. This method has several advantages. On the one hand, it makes it possible not to have an immediate overview and not to perceive certain imbalances. That in matters of men / women is now glaring. Since out of about twenty names, apart from Cathy herself, there are only 2 women. And another one is not confirmed... On the other hand, it allows to test the reactions and to leave a chance to correct the next "turn". Finally, it makes it possible to spread out recruitments over time (therefore interviews with the various candidates, etc.).
