Norwegian shipowners criticize Norway's absence in the anti-piracy operation

(BRUSSELS2) Norwegian shipowners are unhappy after the capture by pirates of the MV Asphalt Venture (which belongs to the Oslo group, Blystad Group) off the coast of Tanzania. They feel that the government is not doing enough to protect them. "We do not understand that Norway does not participate as a naval power in international efforts to protect international maritime traffic near Somalia", explains director Sturla Henriksen, general manager of Norwegian Shipowners, in the columns of Afterposten. Defense Minister Grete Faremo replied that he would soon study the possibility of a new contribution to anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden
