Greek Navy Chief of Staff visits France

(B2) The Chief of Staff of the Greek National Navy, Vice-Admiral Georges Caramalikis, has started a visit to France which will last until April 30. On the program of the visit of the Greek delegation, talks in Paris with his French counterpart, Admiral Forissier, a visit to Toulon to the Command Center of the Mediterranean maritime region and district (CECMED), where he will be received by Vice-Admiral Yann Tainguy, then to the French Fleet HQ (Naval Action Force-ALFAN), still in Toulon. Finally, this visit will end in Brest with a meeting with the Commander of the Strategic Oceanic Force (ALFOST), Wing Vice-Admiral Jean-François Baud. A visit that is not only ceremonial. Since the Greek navy wants to equip itself with French frigates (read "Greece makes its market in France"). An equipment program that will not be serious counterparts. Greece could ask that the warships be, partly or totally, built in Greek shipyards (this condition already existed in the previous purchases of the Greeks).
