The Nordic Battlegroup is preparing solidly

(B2) Some countries take the preparation and training of battlegroups (the light rapid reaction force of the EU) more seriously than others. This is the case with the Nordics. Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, Irish and Estonians who will be on duty... in 2011. More than 2100 people should be part of it, including around 1.600 Swedes. The FHQ will consist of 109 people. A team of about ten people already works at FHQ, according to Mikael Frisell, Swedish chief of staff and head of the battlegroup, at headquarters in Stockholm. The workforce will rise to about 70 people after the summer to be gradually increased.
