The Nordic Battlegroup is preparing solidly

(B2) Some countries take the preparation and training of battlegroups (the EU's light rapid reaction force) more seriously than others. This is the case for the Nordics. Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, Irish and Estonians who will be on duty... in 2011. More than 2100 people should be part of it, including around 1.600 Swedes. The FHQ will be made up of 109 people. A team of around ten people is already working at the FHQ, according to Mikael Frisell, Swedish chief of staff and head of the battlegroup, at headquarters in Stockholm. The workforce will increase to around 70 people after the summer to be gradually increased.
