General Mathey takes command of Kfor in North Kosovo

(B2) General Claude Mathey took command on June 1 of the Multinational Task Force North (TFMN-N) of Kfor in Kosovo.

A strategic command since it guarantees the territorial integrity of Kosovo, having in particular in its area the mixed city of Mitrovica, and strategic points such as the factories of Strepca, the water reserve of Gazivodsko Jezero and the main point of entry with the Serbia (Gate 1). In particular, he will have to work with the European Union's Eulex mission to guarantee its proper deployment.

General Mathey comes from the Center for Advanced Military Studies, where he held the position of deputy director. In particular, he held the position of deputy director of the "ex-Yugoslavia" cell of the Joint Operational Center (COIA), where he carried out a mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Sarajevo and then in Mostar, in 1997.
