The Dutch finally approve their participation in EUFOR Tchad

(BRUSSELS2) After much procrastination, the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament approved, on 28 March, the dispatch of sixty marines to Chad as part of the European military force Eufor. The CDA parliamentary group finally approved this dispatch like its coalition partners in government, Social Democrat (PvdA) and ChristenUnie. On the other hand, the PVV of the populists Geert Wilders, the left socialists of the SP voted against as well as the liberals of the VVD. They explain their vote by their fear of seeing the Dutch military resources, already engaged in Afghanistan, dispersed. (published in Europolitique, 1 April 2008)
