Lithuanians board a WFP ship
(B2) A Lithuanian Ship Protection Detachment (VPD) embarked on the WFP ship, the World Food Programme, the MSM Douro, to provide protection for the next 4 months. The relay with the Serbian team which has provided this function until now took place at the beginning of August in Djibouti. Before leaving, the Lithuanian servicemen underwent six months of training and training, with a practical assessment at sea. And for an additional month, the Lithuanians practiced living and moving on a civilian ship, where the procedures are different from a military ship, and multiple languages spoken in the crew. Not to mention the reduced space on deck and... the African sun.
