EUAM Iraq visits Erbil to discuss cooperation with Iraqi Kurdistan

(B2) The European mission EUAM Iraq could extend its activity on the reform of the security sector in Iraqi Kurdistan

Advisers from the EU Advice and Assistance Mission in Iraq (EUAM Iraq), carried out under the Common Security and Defense Policy, visited Erbil between 14 and 16 April. The opportunity to meet officials from the Ministry of the Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq (KRG) and to present the work of the mission.

The possibility of cooperation between EUAM Iraq and the Kurdish government was mentioned, on a few themes, in particular " in matters of domestic violence, human rights, the fight against crime and organized crime and strategic planning ».

New visits to Iraqi Kurdistan will take place soon in order to materialize the mission's commitment to the Kurdistan Regional Government, indicated the mission. The ministerial liaison team of the international coalition could join this cooperation.
