The summit of Trieste turns short. Between French and Italians a quack

(B2) Paris and Rome do not seem on the same wavelength. Listening to our Italian colleagues, the meeting between Italians and French, on the sidelines of the summit on the Balkans, this Wednesday (July 12) came to an end. Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who was asking France to half-open its ports, to lighten the pressure on Italian ports, ran into a wall. Despite the intermediary of Germany, Emmanuel Macron refused to drop from the traditional position of France. No additional reception of migrants. And just a little effort for political refugees. We are a long way from the more generous German welcoming policy, so much welcomed in Paris. (NGV)
