EUCAP Nestor recruits 15 employees

(BRUSSELS2) The European mission EUCAP Nestor, to reinforce maritime capacities in the Horn of Africa, is recruiting 15 collaborators in very diverse fields, experts, press relations, political adviser. Positions will be granted to seconded or contracted personnel. Application deadline: May 24. Most positions are to be filled as soon as possible. Hurry up !

Some positions offered:

Chief of staff (Djibouti, seconded). The collaborator will have to coordinate the action at the HQ of the mission or supervise the implementation and planning of EUCAP actions. The candidate must have a degree in management or an academic equivalent and have at least 10 years of experience in the field. Coastguard training would be an advantage as well as a good knowledge of the area.

Coastguard/Maritime Security Adviser (Djibouti, seconded). The collaborator will be responsible for advising the head of mission in the field of the coast guard, developing the knowledge of local officials, coordinating action with the agencies involved in the mission. Applicants will need to be senior Coast Guard officers, have experience in maritime security and at least 10 years of sea experience.

Press and information manager (based in Djibouti, seconded). The collaborator will act as spokesperson for the head of mission. He will have to take care of the website, press releases and provide expertise in terms of communication. Applicants should have a degree in journalism, communications, political science or international relations with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Knowledge of European institutions and diplomacy would be an asset. NB: .

NB: a Kenya-Somalia political adviser, a Kenya-Somalia country team leader, another PPIO - press and information spokesperson (for Nairobi) as well as an information technology expert are also recruited on secondment. The first three positions will be based in Nairobi, the last in Djibouti.

Public Procurement Officer (Djibouti, contractual, 5 positions: a manager, 2 for the mission, 2 for the projects). Staff will conduct, develop and coordinate procurement contracts and processes in accordance with the criteria procedures required by European Commission legislation and regulations. Applicants should have a degree in economics, law or public administration. A 5-year experience is required with, preferably, at least 3 years within a PSDC mission.

Note a head of mission support, support services such as a financial officer are also recruited.
