Berlin prepares its commitment to EUCAP Nestor

(BRUSSELS2) The German government approved on Thursday (August 16) a draft law allowing the presence of soldiers and police in EUCAP Nestor, the new European mission deployed in East Africa and the Indian Ocean to strengthen the maritime capacities of the States of the region. The maximum number of personnel that can be employed is 10 people: 5 military personnel and 5 federal or Länder police officers who can serve as instructors and support personnel in EUCAP Nestor. The presence of soldiers in the mission presupposes the agreement of the Bundestag, the German parliament.
