Life imprisonment sentence for 2 pirates in the United States
(BRUSSELS2) Two pirates charged in the capture of the yacht SY Quest were sentenced to life in prison by the Norfolk Federal Court on Friday (December 16). Said Abdi Fooley and Abdi Jama Aqid had pleaded guilty like 11 of the suspects. 9 pirates had already been sentenced to life in prison. 3 others still face murder charges and could face the death penalty. The 4 occupants of the yacht (all Americans) had been killed during the assault by Marine Commandos (SEALs), in circumstances that were not always clarified; 4 kidnappers were also killed.
