Serious incident in northern Kosovo, 1 dead, 3 injured, Eulex is investigating

(BRUSSELS2) Investigators from EULEX, the European Rule of Law Mission, have deployed to North Kosovo to investigate - in conjunction with the Kosovo police - the incident last night (Wednesday 9 November) which is occurred in the neighborhood of Brdjani north of Mitrovica. One person was killed and three others were injured in a shootout. Serbs attacked by Albanians, according to our colleagues from B92, translated by Balkan Mail. However, the situation seems rather confusing. And investigators from Eulex went to the scene and started interviewing the witnesses.

Investigation underway, call to avoid revenge

This investigation continues today - one specifies in the HQ of Eulex - to seek scientific proofs and to raise the other testimonies. But it is not obvious. And Eulex has great difficulty in carrying out this task. So she called today " everyone with restraint in the face of violent reactions and (to) let (justice) be done (*). This includes the possibility for Eulex to be able to move freely and to be able to carry out the various investigations in accordance with its mandate. »

(*) EULEX calls upon everyone to refrain from violent reactions and to let the rule of law do its work. This includes the possibility to move around freely for EULEX to carry out this and other investigations in accordance with its mandate.
