The mandate of the special representative in Kosovo extended (update)

(BRUSSELS2) The 27 ambassadors adopted a decision extending by 4 months the mandate of the European Union's special representative in Kosovo, Fernando Gentilini. A decision taken Monday (October 17) a posteriori. Gentilini's term actually ended on September 30. And, normally, he must take up his duties at the headquarters of the diplomatic service as Balkan director. But for the moment, no agreement has been reached between the High Representative and the ambassadors of the 27 on a replacement. The extension is only valid until the end of January 2012. The budget allocated to the team of the special representative for this period is set at 770.000 euros.
