Eusec Congo recruits some officers for short term

(BRUSSELS2) The COPS ambassadors have agreed to recruit a few additional officers for the European Security Reform Assistance Mission in Congo (EUSEC RD Congo). The head of mission wanted, in fact, a temporary reinforcement of the mission in order to be able to finalize the project distribution of identity cards? soldiers (CIM Project) no later than September 30, 2011. Reinforcement is limited in number - 5 a? 6 officers and/or senior non-commissioned officers - and over time - for a period of three months. A call for applications for seconded national experts has therefore been launched.

These officers will have the task of ensuring control in one of the distribution centers in North Kivu, South Kivu or in Province Orientale. According to the job description, this includes assisting, advising and supporting the FARDC teams in census operations and the distribution of military identity cards (CIM); to supervise the operation of distribution of the CIM and to control the good application of the procedures of distribution by the whole of the personnel FARDC.

Nationality of one of the 27 Member States. French compulsory (it's rare enough to be reported 🙂 and English practiced (for liaison with MONUSCO). Deadline: as soon as possible. Modalities: by your hierarchical authority or through the permanent representation of the EU in Brussels.

Important clarification: despite its strong military tone, EUSEC Congo is a "civilian" mission of the European Union. Because of its specificity, it is placed directly under the "political and strategic" authority of the ambassadors of the COPS (the Political and Security Committee) and not under the authority of the Civilian Operations Commander.
