The anti-missile shield: 1 billion euros

The small disagreements between France and Germany on the definition of the anti-missile shield could be overcome "at the last minute", according to the German press agency DPA. And this would thus be included in NATO's new strategic concept. Cost of such a device according to Berlin: 1 billion euros distributed at the rate of 850 million € for the development of the anti-missile device and 147 million € for development and the network. We know that Germany supports a defensive conception of the shield, within the framework of nuclear disarmament. While France sees it as an additional means but which does not supplant nuclear deterrence. The establishment of a common anti-missile defense system would thus be included in NATO's strategic concept. Russia would be invited to participate in the shield. But also on the agenda of NATO-Russia cooperation: the fight against terrorism, civil protection forces and "technical" assistance for Afghanistan, namely the rights of passage of materials in Russia and the supply of Russian-made helicopters to the Afghan army.
