The British Largs Bays in Haiti

(B2) The auxiliary landing ship RFA Largs Bay, arrived in Haiti on February 23, and began to land tons of equipment and vehicles, the United Kingdom's contribution to the humanitarian effort. The equipment - 40 vehicles, 15 containers and 5.700 corrugated sheets for shelters - was provided by DFID (Department for International Development) and NGOs.

The ship will remain as long as necessary to assist the UN and the WFP in the distribution of aid, according to the British side.
British aid to Haiti also includes C-130J Hercules aircraft from RAF base Lyneham. The first, served by the 30th squadron, arrived from the MacDill base in Florida on January 23, with 16 members of the UK Military Stabilization Unit on board.
