Europe increases its aid to the Seychelles: +2,5 million euros

(B2) The European Commission has just increased the budgetary envelope allocated to the Seychelles to strengthen its economic development over the period to be covered until 2013. This increases from 5,9 million euros to 8,4 million an increase of 2,5 million euros. The majority will go to the general budget (7,5 million euros) of the archipelago, we learn from Seychellois sources. That is, the government of the archipelago will be free to use it (subject to control). Part (0,9 million euros) will be dedicated to strengthening the state structure and technical cooperation. Of course, this has nothing to do, but nothing to do with the EU anti-piracy operation "Atalanta". Well almost...  Now I won't be surprised that theSOFA agreement et pirate transfer can soon be signed too. It is one of the effects ofthe global approach" which General Bentegeat talks about (interview to be published on this blog...)
