Australian warships thwart two attacks

(B2) Two attacks against merchant ships were successively thwarted by the Australian navy 170 km from the coast of Yemen, we learned from the Australian navy. Lhe Sydney and the Ballarat, which were escorting ships, indeed foiled two pirate attacks on Saturday: one against a United Arab Emirates tanker, the MV Dubai Princess, the other a freighter flying the Panamanian flag, the MSC Stella. Pirates tried to board and fire RPG rockets.

In the photo - taken from the Australian ships - we can observe the anti-piracy measures taken by the Dubai Princess which activated all its fire hoses. And the skiff pirates chasing him. The difference in size of the two boats is quite impressive (Photo credit: Australian Ministry of Defense)
