The reintegration of France into NATO, officially reaffirmed

(B2) The return of France to NATO's integrated commands will be implicit in the debates organized on Wednesday by the Foundation for Strategic Research, with the reform of the strategy and functioning of the Alliance. A symposium to watch closely, due to the seriousness of its speakers. To follow in particular: the closure by the French President of the Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy, who should reaffirm (he had already announced it in Munich in a way) his decision to reintegrate and above all justify the reason for this measure which raises some questions. Let us remain reasonable, however, on the scope of the debate. Aside from the "opinion" columns in our newspapers and the political and military spheres directly involved in this issue, we cannot say that this change arouses beyond measure - at least for the moment - a major interest in the mind of our fellow citizens.
