US security does not joke when Barack shows up

US-EU_Summit_Banner(BRUSSELS2) The presence of an American president in Brussels has to be earned. Security will be reinforced as rarely... And to see Barack Obama, journalists will have to discipline themselves. To be honest... the processes are quite extraordinary. First of all, no last-minute accreditation was planned, contrary to the practice at summits of Heads of State and Government. Then the Belgian (federal) police will establish a security perimeter, stricter than usual, around the Justus Lipsius building. Accreditation badge and ID will be required. Cameramen and journalists will not have access to the outside of the building to film the arrival of the president. They will be parked inside, in spaces so restricted, that it will be almost impossible to work or ask questions. During the press conference, the main entrance will be completely cordoned off - with no entry or exit. It is also to be expected that the questions will be hand-picked and pre-distributed as is customary at large meetings. As for televisions, they will be prohibited from "live stand-up" in the large press room, says the Atrium, where they usually go! We are thus more in the exercise of a show than in an exercise in response to the press...
