B2 reaches a new milestone! Join us

(B2) Dear readers, B2 will take a new step in a few weeks, marked by a new name: "The daily life of geopolitical Europe".

This terminology measures the time traveled at all levels since... 2008. What was "just a blog" has become a media in its own right, recognized as "political and general information" (IPG) by the ministry ( French) of Culture. Europe, too, has displayed its desire to embrace all the themes of geopolitics and to rise to the rank of world players.

Open access remains a deliberate choice. Despite the general trend which intends to reserve information for paying, we wanted to keep this blog alive and part of our articles in free access. And we are proud of it! Of course, this forces us to be on two fronts at the same time. But we made this choice because it seems essential to us to make known to as many people as possible the news of geopolitical Europe.

A desire to inform about Europe. Despite the magnitude of the stakes, the continent's foreign policy remains relatively unknown to citizens, and difficult to read. This is why it is important to us to provide information, professionally, but independently, without advertising or subsidies, around a triptych: precision, impertinence and pedagogy. B2 is thus one of the only European media to produce its own analyzes as well as to report on the ground, most often self-financed.

Today, we are calling on you to accompany us on this new course.

Two projects in 2021-2022

We have two projects for this pivotal period 2021-2022 in terms of European defence. Period when France will (once again) assume the presidency of the European Union.

Reinforcement. This PFUE (as it is called in the jargon) promises to be intense especially in our key areas of defence, security and sovereignty. And crises, unforeseen or foreseeable, could well be at the rendezvous. We need to strengthen ourselves. A big leap for B2: from three journalists, we want to go to five. This will allow us both to ensure a continuous flow of news, home-made analyses, a few caustic editorials and a series of reports from the field.

Reporting and analysis. We want to continue doing our job as journalists: watching with our own eyes, and testifying. In 2021-2022, three to four topics are on our minds:

  • an EU maritime operation, in the Mediterranean or the Gulf of Guinea;
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina, 30 years after the start of the conflict;
  • Lebanon or Tunisia, more than ten years after the Arab Spring;
  • and if possible, the Sahel and the Task Force Takuba.

In addition, we will continue to do one-day reports like those already published: 24 hours at Airbus Defense & Space24 hours at arianespace.

Your contribution will also allow us to continue to develop our own analyses, without taboos, independently and willingly against the current (1).

To to contribute is here on the OkPal website

These donations are collected on the secure OkPal platform, developed with SPIIL (the online press union of which B2 is a member). They are encouraged (in France) by a tax deduction for people (tax reduction of 66% of the amount paid) as for the BUSINESSES (60% tax reduction) within certain limits. The origin of the donations is not communicated to the editorial staff, to preserve its independence.

Without publicity, without subsidies or sponsors, B2 lives only on financing from its readers and memberships. B2 is constituted in the form of an association law 1901 (non-profit). All our income is entirely devoted to maintaining this site and writing. B2 is recognized IPG (political and general information) by the CPPAP.
