(BRUSSELS2) The security forces of the Seychelles should receive training and training support from the Spanish forces. Two areas of training will be privileged: training in aerial surveillance of maritime areas and methods of boarding and inspecting ships. This last training should be done by the teams of Marines embarked on the Spanish ships of Atalanta, during their stopover in Port-Victoria. These are some of the elements announced by the Spanish Minister of Defense, Carme Chacon, during her visit to Seychelles on Monday (July 4). A bilateral commission will also be set up on a sensitive issue: the presence of large caliber weapons (12,7) held by the private guards on board the Spanish trawlers. Spain has finally promised to install a telemedicine network at the Gomez Ulla hospital, which should make it possible to offer specialized medical care to the numerous Spanish fishermen in the region.

NB: 27 vessels belonging to Spanish companies operate in the area.
