(BRUSSELS2) The formation of the second "Elou" battalion is hardly finished than that of the third battalion has already begun. European trainers in Koulikoro are not slowing down. Admittedly, it is not really the training of the battalion that has begun (this will begin as planned at the end of the month) but that of the 28 company commanders or platoon leaders who, since September 16, have been following a "training course preliminary training". Objective: to strengthen the tactical knowledge and command aptitude of the officers of the Malian battalion. On the program: sports activities, shooting training, tactics lessons and restitution in the field, notions of pedagogy.

Put them in a position of command

An important formation, as General Bruno Guibert explained during his visit to Brussels on Tuesday, because it " makes it possible to put the Malian chiefs in the position of actor". There is indeed no question of replacing them during the training of their men. (...) We give them confidence, remind them of some educational and technical elements. We want to put them in a position to train men, to be in the lead to ensure their functions. ". A process of "training by progressive aggregation" which should allow officers to be fully in command of their unit, to strengthen their authority.
