Peacekeeping – MONUC

One Indian peacekeeper checking AK47 magazines in the Beni Wharehouse, where all weapons and ammunition are stored.
One of North Kivu mobile team in Matembo, 5 kms out of Beni, during demobilization process. The team is made up of SMI (Military Integration Structure), CONADER, and MONUC. CONADER deals with demobilization and reintegration. Either military must go through "brassage center" to join FARDC or they go through demobilization and join civil life. They must all surrender their weapons. MONUC acts essentially as an observer. In BENI IndBatt 2/V counts the men and number of weapons and help with transport of those weapons to the warehouse or with infrastructures like providing tents.
