16 pirates arrested, 12 hostages freed by Absalon

(B2) New feat of arms for the Danish frigate Absalon engaged in the NATO anti-piracy operation, Ocean Shield. She dismantled yesterday (April 11) a pirate mother ship. An intervention carried out without the use of force says the Danish Operations HQ in Copenhagen. 12 hostages from Pakistan and Iran were released and 16 suspected pirates arrested. They are currently detained on board the ABSALON; the Danish authorities are "examining whether there is a possibility of prosecuting the suspected pirates". NB: it seems difficult however to deliver them to Iran or Pakistan.
