(B2) Training, always, cooperation, again. And results, finally. This summarizes the activity of the missions this month.

Chimoio (Mozambique). Practical exercises begin

Training in weapons and marksmanship, sappers, first aid, combat technique, land navigation, intelligence and counter-intelligence, counter-terrorism, communications, battlefield surveillance and military physical exercises. This was the formation program of the Mission in Mozambique (EUTM), in Chimoio, in the center of the country. Details here

Hargeisa (Somalia). Tailor-made training 

This year, the team of the EU Maritime Security Capability Support Mission for Somalia (EUCAP Somalia) has been tasked with updating the knowledge of senior Somaliland Coastguard staff. (decision-making and legal issues). A useful exchange of experience also on the EUCAP side, explains the head of the EUCAP maritime security and coastguard unit, Kenneth Neijnes. Details here

Bamako (Mali). military justice

The first session of the criminal chamber of the Bamako Military Tribunal was held on 10 November. Three cases (for crimes against the integrity of persons and morals) were entered on the court list. “One of the most important results [of] the work of the security capacity support mission in Mali (EUCAP Sahel Mali), greets its leader Hervé Flahaut, present at the session. Odessa (Ukraine). The numbers speak too!

The mistrust of the Ukrainians vis-à-vis the forces of order or justice is not in doubt. This is the result of a regional survey on Community security, carried out by the EU Advisory Mission to the Ukrainian Internal Security Forces (EUAM Ukraine). The results were timely presented at the launch of the Community Safety Dialogue in the Odessa region. Enough to feed the debates... Details here

London. The fight against maritime piracy begins on land

The shipping industry is " one of the main pillars of the fight against piracy ". The EU maritime counter-piracy operation (EUNAVFOR Atalanta) off the coast of Somalia and the Gulf of Aden therefore takes care to maintain its relations with its representatives. Appointment was given in London, at the headquarters of the International Chamber of Merchant Shipping. The main global shipping industry associations participated in the meeting. Details here

Málaga (Spain). Spanish-Ukrainian experience sharing

Personalized border guards, officers of the service national of migration, du service national of customs, de la police nationale et du service de safety de the State participated in a visits study of center national de coordination Spanish border management. Ramallah (West Bank). Police cooperation

The EU Police Mission in the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL Copps) is recruiting police advisers “ very experienced to strengthen its support for the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP). Pristina (Kosovo). Donations of equipment, from primary to judicial

The Mission for Strengthening the Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) acted as Santa Claus before its time, delivering IT and office equipment (15 computers, printers, etc.) and laboratory equipment to an elementary school in the capital. After delivering five car keys (and other equipment) to the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (PIK) and the Emergency Management Agency (EMA). Details here

Visit to Mali 

A delegation from the European Peace Facility visited the Sévaré mission area, the Koulikoro training center as well as the EUTM MALI HQ in Bamako. A visibly delighted mission “ that the delegation has was able to familiarize themselves with anticipated operational requirements for further consideration and decision-making ". Meeting in Brussels

Far from their bases, the heads of the 11 civilian CSDP missions of the European Union met in Brussels in mid-November.
