Realize the training

The operation took place from 20 to 22 November and involved the task group n°2 of Ménaka and the light reconnaissance and intervention unit n°6 (ULRI) of the Malian armed forces. She was driven about thirty kilometers south-west of Ménaka “, indicates the staff of the French armies in a press release. This implementation comes after a five-week cycle of training and practice.

One operation, three objectives

After acquiring intelligence and thanks to the dialogue established with the population », the soldiers carried out motorized infiltration operations day and night. The French and Czech soldiers supervised two sections of Malian soldiers, with a triple objective: “ disrupt the networks of armed terrorist groups "; " show the presence of Malian soldiers accompanied by the Takuba task force "; " evaluate the skills acquired by ULRI 6 ", in order to validate their capacities to " conduct longer and deeper operations ».
