Sweden to take command of the Takuba task force

(B2) From November 2021, Sweden will assume command of the special units operation in Mali at the initiative of France and with the Europeans.

(MOD France / EMA)

« We can confirm that we have agreed to provide the leadership position for Task Force Takuba in Mali » indicates a communicated Swedish defence.

It is " a clear example of the good Franco-Swedish cooperation in the ongoing operation and the trust our staff have built during the time we have worked together in Mali “, underlines Brigadier General Anders Löfberg, head of the special forces command.

NB: the Swedes have joined the task force since February 2021 with the (precious) contribution of a rapid intervention force and helicopters. With this assumption of office, the French complete what they had begun by Europeanizing Takuba.
